She hasn’t been playing professional tennis for several years already, but she still somehow manages to make headlines when Wimbledon is in full swing. Russian former tennis player Anna Kournikova was reportedly involved in a bar brawl in Las Vegas on Saturday after a woman threw a drink over her. The woman who was apparently drunk was ejected, but not before leaving Anna with scratches on her neck.

Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias managed to show the world that their relationship was going strong when the kiss cam found them on the stands during the Sony Ericsson semi-final match between Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

During a recent press conference, in response to a question  if Anna is the love of her life, Iglesias said “If you ask me right now, I’d say she’s the woman in my life, but I don’t know if eternal love exists. The reality is that lots of people who get married get divorced but I’ll be able to answer that question when I’m 90, then I’ll be able to say if I was with her the rest of my life,”

While our stars are busy enjoying their lives during the off season (which means falling in love, breaking up, buying tournaments, posing for magazine covers, etc). Let’s take a look at some photos of famous Russian stars and their “significant others.” Since this is based on mostly gossip, I have to say I don’t really know if these couples are still together as of my writing:-)

Igor Andreev and Maria Kirilenko. (Wikipedia still says Andreev is dating Russian fashionista Masha K.) Don’t they look like the blond version of this famous tennis couple

Mikhail Youzhny and Julia Thomas. So he can also be nice and tender?

Nikolay Davydenko and his wife Irina. (I hope Irina has more color and personality than her famous husband).

Marat Safin and Russian pop singer Nastya Osipova. (Our favorite playboy’s latest girlfriend didn’t score high among his  fan base:-)

USTA has announced that they will no longer use former tennis pro Justin Gimelstob in their upcoming television ad campaign because of his sexist remarks on a radio program. “In the radio appearance, Gimelstob used a derogatory term to describe Anna Kournikova, a former tennis player, and made suggestive comments about current top-25 player Nicole Vaidisova.”

Kournikova plays for her sixth season of World Team Tennis, this time for the St. Louis Aces. She is scheduled to play the Newport Beach (California) Breakers on July 16, New York (Albany) Buzz on July 22 and Washington (D.C.) Kastles on July 23. (Src: Sports Illustrated)
